December 21, MINSK. By 2025, farms of all categories need to produce MILK in the amount of 9.2 million tons, Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats said at a joint meeting of the chambers of the Belarusian parliament, BelTA has learned.

"In animal husbandry, by 2025, farms of all categories need to produce milk in the amount of 9.2 million tons, livestock and poultry - 2.05 million tons," Leonid Zayats said.

According to him, the main reserve for growth in animal husbandry is purposeful work to improve the quality of the forage base, which makes it possible to maximize the genetic potential of farm animals and poultry. "This direction is mainly concentrated in the field of crop production and further renewal of the production base, construction, reconstruction and modernization of livestock facilities," the vice premier said.

"Thanks to the modernization of the dairy industry, there are currently 1.6 thousand dairy farms in the republic with modern technologies, which house 65% of the dairy herd and produce about 70% of milk," added Leonid Zayats.
