So, as of February 16, 2023, in the territory of CHINA , Latvia, Poland and Ukraine, the veterinary services of the states registered 535 cases of ASF in the wild boar population and only one among domestic pigs (in the territory of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China).
Attention should be paid to the active notification of ASF cases close to the state borders of RUSSIA in Latvia (at a distance of up to 6 km from the Pskov region, Figure 1) and Poland (up to 700 meters from the Kaliningrad region).
In addition, given the history of the development of ASF panzootics and the second case of registration on February 8, 2023 in southern Poland, on the territory of the Jasle poviat, Podkarpackie Voivodeship, 5 km from the border with Slovakia, there is a high risk of further spread of the infection to the territory of the latter country.
