October 17, Minsk . A man died of acute alcohol poisoning in Vawkavysk, the State Forensic Examination Committee told BelTA.

The 69-year-old resident of the district center was found at his place of residence with no signs of foul play.Law enforcement officials determined that the man lived alone and abused alcohol.

According to forensic experts, the cause of death was acute ethyl alcohol poisoning. "The concentration of ethyl alcohol in the deceased's blood was 10 ppm—almost three times higher than the concentration that can cause death," the State Forensic Examination Committee (GKSE) clarified.

Experts say that to reach this concentration, a person would need to drink, on average, about 2 liters of strong alcoholic beverage in a relatively short period of time.

"Alcohol abuse is not just a bad habit, but an insidious disease with devastating consequences for the entire body," the GKSE added.
