October 22, Mogilev. A special preventative event, "House Without Fire," is underway in the Gorki District. This was reported to BelTA by Inessa Yelfimova, official spokesperson for the Mogilev Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations .

Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel visited villages in the Gorki Village Council today. They inspected the condition of stove heating systems, the presence and functionality of autonomous fire alarms, the correct dimensions of firebox sheets, and the proper installation of heating appliances.

According to Yelfimova, 38 fires have been registered in the Gorki District since the beginning of the year, resulting in four fatalities. Most of the incidents occurred in homes occupied by elderly, single, and socially vulnerable individuals.

A significant number of fires in the region are caused by careless fire handling, including smoking. Sometimes, such incidents end in tragedy. Preventative "House Without Fire" raids are conducted in districts experiencing an increase in fires and fatalities.

"The goal of the campaign is to convey to every resident the importance of observing fire safety regulations: do not leave young children unattended, do not smoke in bed, and do not neglect to install independent smoke alarms. Rescuers pay special attention to the safety of installing and operating stove equipment and provide recommendations for troubleshooting," shared Inessa Elfimova.

"Safety Routes" traditionally include the homes of single residents, disabled individuals, individuals who abuse ALCOHOL, and large families. In each home visited, EMERCOM workers leave informational brochures with reminders of safety precautions.

The rescuers' main goal is to assist, explain, inspect, and prevent disaster. Violating fire safety regulations in residential buildings carries an administrative penalty of up to 5 base units, and for installing and operating stoves, up to 15 base units.
