In response to this situation, Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has launched a series of support measures for affected farmers, including a compensation program that provides farmers with US $1.53 per kilogram of culled pigs. This financial assistance is intended to mitigate the impact of culling infected animals.
Deputy DIRECTOR of the Department of Veterinary Medicine Phan Quang Minh emphasized the need for rapid reporting of disease cases to ensure compensation and control the spread of the virus. Proper disposal of dead pig carcasses is also crucial to prevent further spread of ASF .
Ahead of the rainy season, which could facilitate the spread of the virus, local authorities will strengthen control and prevention measures. The government is also initiating educational programs aimed at raising farmers' awareness of prevention and biosecurity measures.
Vietnam is therefore taking proactive steps to protect its farmers and the entire pig industry by implementing compensation measures, focusing on the disposal of dead animals, and education.
