New Products and Volume Growth. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food on the Dairy Industry Development Strategy through 2035.

October 16, MINSK . Maria Klimova, Deputy HEAD of the Main Directorate for Processing Industry at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, spoke about the key areas of the dairy industry development strategy through 2035 at the plenary session of the 11th International Forum "Dairy Belarus," BelTA reports.

Klimova noted that while last year saw stagnation among the world's major dairy producers, this year they showed growth, which impacted prices . They have begun to decline. Competition is increasing, including from Indian producers (their share of global MILK production exceeds 22%, and for butter, it accounts for almost one-third).
The marketability of milk in Belarus is 91%, while in the world it is about 50%. Positive dynamics of production for the main nomenclature is maintained. In January-September, the growth rate of cheese production was 108.3%, whole milk products - 110.2%, butter - 100.3%, canned condensed milk - 121%, ice cream - 100.6%, whole milk powder - 131.4%, dry whey - 109.2%.
One of the main areas of further work is to improve the quality of milk. In general, milk production is expected to increase by 2035 to 12 million tons (in 2024 it was 8.8 million tons). Processing capacity and utilisation will also increase.

It is planned to organize the production of new dry milk products and components with a shift to deep processing, modernise production facilities, and increase exports. "The main goal is to increase the production of high-margin, in-demand products—specialized, functional, and packaged," said Maria Klimova.   The specialist cited sports nutrition, clinical nutrition

, dietary supplements, and other growth drivers . Investment projects will be implemented, including the construction of an innovative facility for the production of dry baby food according to GMP standards at Bellakt OJSC in Volkovysk.
