October 16,
MINSK . Belarusian food
exports to Kazakhstan have increased significantly this year. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of
Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexey Bogdanov announced this at the plenary session of the 11th International Forum "Dairy Belarus," BelTA reports.
Bogdanov outlined how Belarus can expand its presence in the Kazakh market. "We are developing mutually beneficial projects across a wide range of industries. Kazakhstan's market is vast and constantly growing. Dairy products are increasingly gaining popularity under the influence of globalization, including in the gastronomic sector," the ambassador noted. "Analyzing statistical data, Belarusian food exports to Kazakhstan increased by 26.4% in the first eight months of 2025. Last year, Kazakhstan imported 183,000 tons of dairy products, including 55,300 tons of cheese and cottage cheese, 45,000 tons of yogurt, kefir, and other fermented
MILK products, nearly 32,000 tons of milk and cream, and 36,100 tons of condensed and powdered milk."
Local producers do not fully meet the needs of residents, so
imports are an important element of the food balance. Belarusian producers are also actively operating in the market. "Kazakhstan has developed its own trading system, distinct from Belarus's, and
it is necessary to work with all companies using all available tools," the ambassador emphasized.
One effective way to promote products is by participating in specialized exhibitions. For example, the KazAgro/KazFarm exhibition will be held in Astana from October 22-24, and the 27th Central Asian International Exhibition, FoodExpo Qazaqstan, will be held in Almaty from November 12-14. As part of the first event, on October 23, the embassy, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, has planned to hold the first Belarusian-Kazakh Agrarian Forum. The goal of the event is to present Belarusian experience in agricultural development to the Kazakh side.
"We invite all interested parties to participate. The level of trust and loyalty among the Kazakh population towards Belarus is very high. Belarusian brands have become recognizable, and this is the main factor for success," noted Alexey Bogdanov. Photo by Andrey Sinyavsky
