“We are now implementing the first project in Russia to create a sheep MEAT farm. We hope that in two years we will have a breeding center for the well-known Oxford Down breed, which is now the turn of many farms in Russia, because there is no other such farm today,” he said. he.
According to the head of the region, the creation of such a center on the territory of the republic will increase the economic and investment attractiveness of Karelia.
The first Oxford Down sheep breeding farm for 1,000 heads was built in Lahdenpoh district in 2020. “In the conditions of our republic, sheep breeding can be profitable. This is an opportunity for additional income for residents of our remote villages and villages,” Parfenchikov said on his page on the social network VKontakte in August last year.
Days of Karelia in Moscow are held on May 20 and 21. Investment, economic and tourism potentials of the republic are presented at the site of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, a photo exhibition of the sights of Karelia opened on the Old Arbat, and a concert of creative teams of the region was held at the International House of Music. The city's venues will also discuss topics common to Moscow and Karelia, including the development of tourism.
