The MFM is designed to determine the degree of purity of
MILK in the reception of dairy stations, dairy farms, butter and cheese factories.
The device consists of basic parts: shaped cup, cup holder, platform, grid, bracket, measuring cup of 250 ml capacity.
The device is attached to a table or bench. On the tube put a rubber tube, the other end of which is directed to a bucket or can. (If there is no rubber tube, the bucket is placed under the spigot of the device). Stir the milk to be tested, put a cotton filter so that
it completely covered the grid and captured evenly the edges of its opening. At the same time, the glass holder should be lifted. Release the glass holder and the springs are pressed firmly against the glass holder.
The milk to be tested is mixed thoroughly and immediately taken out with a measuring cup 250 ml of milk and poured into a shaped cup. When the filtration is finished, the milk portions are tilted in the glass-holder, carefully removed from the cotton filter and placed on a sheet of white parchment or papery paper. The purity group of the milk is determined by comparing the filter with an approved reference.
Under the filter, the sample data, the name of the farm where the milk came from, and the date and month of the test are recorded on the paper. After finishing the determination of milk samples, all parts of the device are thoroughly washed with hot water and dried. Washing the device with alkaline solutions - soda, lye, etc. is not allowed. The device should be stored in a dry heated room.
