“The Komi Republic has actively begun implementing agricultural startups since 2019. During this time, 26 farms received grants in various areas of activity. The total amount of support over 5 years amounted to almost 76 million rubles. In 2024, more than 31 million rubles are planned for Agrostartup grants, which is almost twice as much as in 2023,” the HEAD of the region said in a video message posted on his TELEGRAM channel.
According to the head of the republic, recipients of support not only provide their own employment in the countryside, but also create additional jobs. Almost half of grant recipients created farms based on their personal plots. Grants are provided annually under the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives.”
In 2023, 13 farmers applied for participation, of which five were recognized as winners. More than 16 million rubles have been allocated from the budget for the implementation of their projects on co-financing terms; the farmer must invest at least 10% of his own funds. Thus, in the village of Zamezhnaya, Ust-Tsilemsky district, using funds from an agro-startup, a farm planned to repair a dairy shop and purchase refrigeration equipment and a refrigerator. All work will be completed in 2024. The farm employs eight workers, and three more will be employed during the modernization. The farmer produces more than 10 types of dairy products, which are supplied to budgetary institutions and stores in the Ust-Tsilemsky, Pechora, Ukhtinsky districts and Syktyvkar.
A farmer from the village of Pozheg, Ust-Kulomsky district, used grant funds to purchase agricultural machinery, a tractor, and mounted trailed equipment, which he used for harvesting feed. He was able to increase the number of cattle from 30 to 80 animals, and plans to build a farm for 100 head of cattle. A farm from the village of Brykalansk, Izhemsky district, used grant funds to expand the production of northern taiga honey. This is the northernmost apiary in Komi. The number of bee families will increase from 12 to 35, honey production - up to 800 kilograms per year. With the help of government support, the farm purchased a UAZ "Farmer", equipment for honey production and keeping bees, and bee packages. The products will be sold in the Izhemsky district, as well as through social networks. In total, six beekeepers were helped in Komi by providing grants worth 10 million rubles.
