New Zealand: Ending cow flatulence tax

This decision caused a lot of discussion and disagreement among environmentalists, social activists and farmers themselves. Farmers expressed fears that the introduction of such a tax would make their activities unprofitable and unprofitable. With five million people living in New Zealand and much more cattle and sheep than that, agriculture is one of the country's biggest emitters of greenhouse gases.

However, despite the abolition of the tax, it is important to remember that the problem of methane emissions remains relevant and requires serious attention. There are various technologies and methods that can help reduce the environmental impact of livestock farming. For example, introducing special diets for animals, using biogas plants to process manure, or promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Thus, the issue of reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere remains a pressing challenge for New Zealand and other countries with a developed agricultural industry. Striving for a balance between economic interests and environmental concerns is an important step towards sustainable development and conservation of natural resources.
