BEFL has published the annual rating of large agricultural land owners in Russia 2022

In the 10th BEFL ranking, there are 71 companies with a total land bank of 16.7 million hectares, 1.3 million hectares more than last year.

The period from 2021 to the beginning of 2022 is characterized by fairly high prices for agricultural products. The favorable situation in the sector as a whole was not critically influenced even by such factors as the growth of production costs, the introduction of quotas and EXPORT duties on grain and oilseeds, and drought in some key agricultural regions of the country. The positive trends of the year also include record food exports and entry into new markets in the Middle East region.

Due to the high profitability during the year, the demand for agricultural assets in crop production increased. By the end of 2021 - the beginning of 2022, prices for arable land increased in the center and in the south of RUSSIA by 30–50%, and in some regions the increase was almost twofold. Even with limited offerings, the M&A market in the horticulture sector remained active. Large agricultural holdings continued to expand land banks, which can be seen, for example, in the top ten leaders of the rating: over the year, the total bank of the top ten grew by more than 300 thousand hectares.

The HEAD of the Ministry of Industry and Trade allowed the rapid abolition of the mechanism of parallel imports

In the 2022 ranking, the top five leaders remained unchanged, however, their total land bank increased by 258 thousand hectares. Agroholding "Talina", the company "Kosminvest", Breeding Plant "Komsomolets" moved up by more lines (by 18 and 17 lines respectively). The leaders in terms of changing the land bank: Agrocomplex (+158 thousand hectares). Significant changes in the positions of companies down and a significant reduction in the land bank this year is not observed.

Three companies Agronova-L, Solnechnye Produkty holding and Agroholding Primorye left the number of large owners of agricultural land, but 8 new companies were added, most of which are large agricultural holdings of the Volga region; there are also companies from the Ural Federal District and the Stavropol Territory.
