Rare essential oil crops are gaining popularity in Crimea

Crimean agricultural producers , along with traditional essential oil crops, grow less common ones, such as yarrow, nepeta, wormwood, lemon balm, and thyme. The seedlings of these plants have been tested.
During the inspection, specialists from the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Republic of Crimea assessed the varietal qualities of the plantings, determined the infestation of cultivated plants and weeds, including quarantine, malicious and poisonous ones, determined the degree of disease and pest damage of the plantings, and checked compliance with the requirements for growing high-quality planting material (placement in crop rotation, spatial isolation, cultivation technology) and more.
All varieties of these plants are included in the State Register and are protected by a patent. The originator of the varieties is the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Research Institute of Agriculture of Crimea”. The varieties are recommended for cultivation in the regions of the North, North-West, Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Sea Region, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, West Siberian, East Siberian, Far Eastern.
