The harvesting campaign began in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov.
“Agricultural producers of the region have started harvesting grain crops: wheat, barley, rye and legumes - peas. To date, the first 60 thousand tons of grain have been harvested from 21 thousand hectares. The average yield in the region is 28 centners per hectare, which is 6 centners more than last year. Harvesting of early potatoes, vegetables, rapeseed, camelina and fiber flax has also begun,” said Nikolai Denisov.
He noted that during the harvesting campaign, agricultural enterprises of the region will have to remove various agricultural crops from an area exceeding one million hectares, of which 640 thousand hectares are cereals and leguminous crops.
“Procurement of animal feed continues in the region. 18.5 centners of coarse and succulent fodder from the planned 25 centners were stocked for one conditional HEAD of livestock,” Nikolai Denisov added.
According to him, as of August 3, 2022, 598.5 thousand tons of haylage (95%), 151.8 thousand tons of hay (82%), 124.6 thousand tons of silage (17.3%) were harvested, also filled 200 tons of grain fodder.
“The harvesting is going on as usual. For its implementation, the farms of the region have all the necessary material, technical and labor resources. We set the task to carry out all the field work within the established agrotechnical deadlines and collect a good harvest,” Nikolai Denisov emphasized.
Recall that more than 5.4 billion rubles of subsidies were allocated to support agricultural enterprises and the development of rural areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region this year, of which more than 3.7 billion rubles have already been distributed to agricultural producers. The funds were used to carry out spring field work; melioration; reimbursement of part of the costs associated with the acquisition of machinery and equipment; to support producers of MILK and vegetables, support personnel and other areas.
