The region has seen a record rapeseed yield this year. All 15 districts and counties where this crop is grown are harvesting. Sunflowers are being threshed in nine municipalities, and soybeans in five.
As of September 9 of this year, 123,500 tons of rapeseed, 15,400 tons of sunflowers, and 11,200 tons of soybeans have been threshed.
"Rapeseed has already been harvested from 70% of the area allocated to this crop," reportedEkaterina Markova, Minister of Agriculture of the Lipetsk Region, said, "The average yield continues to significantly exceed last year's, currently by almost 45% and stands at 28 centners per hectare. This is a record yield for our region. Thanks to this, we have already harvested more rapeseed from a smaller area than last year. And the harvest continues."
The total area under oilseed crops this year is 433,000 hectares. Last year, the region harvested 877,000 tons of sunflower, soybeans, and rapeseed from 416,000 hectares.
