The work of the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Sheksninsky district was appreciated by the Deputy Governor of the Vologda region

The first point of the visit was the Sheksna poultry farm. Its activities are aimed at the production of poultry meat in a closed cycle: from the egg, its incubation, obtaining day-old chickens, their further rearing to slaughter and the sale of finished products. The poultry farm is a complex of interconnected workshops and divisions for a complete technological process.
Poultry production in live weight last year amounted to 16.6 thousand tons (+1.8% compared to the same period in 2021). In the total poultry production in agricultural organizations of the region, its share is almost 90%. The poultry population of the Sheksna poultry farm is 835 thousand heads, of which 746 thousand are fattening broilers.
The poultry farm breeds chickens of the Ross-308 cross, which has a high genetic potential and, with proper care and maintenance, shows decent results in terms of average daily weight gain and poultry safety.
In 2022, the poultry farm produced more than 13.5 thousand tons of finished products from its own produced raw materials. The enterprise is carrying out the reconstruction of production facilities to increase the volume of production of finished products and reduce its cost. So, last year a complete reconstruction of one poultry house was carried out. The usable area for keeping broilers has been increased to a capacity of 33 thousand heads, a new microclimate system has been installed, the system for drinking and feeding poultry has been replaced.
For packaging and labeling of finished products, equipment was purchased for the slaughter and cutting shop with a capacity of 55 packs per minute. The poultry farm has four gas-piston power plants capable of providing autonomous power supply to production facilities in the amount of 60-65% of the need.
In total, about 50 million rubles were invested in the reconstruction and modernization of the enterprise in 2022. In turn, the Government of the region provided the enterprise with state support in the amount of 35 million.
During a working visit to the municipality, Mikhail Glazkov also visited the Sheksna bakery. The enterprise occupies an important place in providing the baking and confectionery industries with flour, as well as the poultry and livestock complex with mixed fodder.
The plant produces wheat flour of the first and highest grade. Last year, about 11 thousand tons of flour were produced, which are purchased by baking and confectionery enterprises of the region for the production of their products.
“Sheksna Bakery Plant in 2022 showed a significant increase in flour production - 41 times compared to 2021, reaching a volume of 11 thousand tons,” said Mikhail Glazkov.
Also, more than 53 thousand tons of compound feed were produced (+4.8% compared to the same period in 2021), which is purchased by Sheksninskaya Poultry Farm LLC and Malechkino Poultry Farm LLC.
At the end of March, it is planned to launch the production of rye flour here in a test mode.
“The enterprises of LLC Sheksninskaya Poultry Farm and LLC Sheksninskiy Bread Products Plant make a significant contribution to the food security of the region, annually increasing production volumes, as well as providing enterprises in the region with raw materials and feed. They play a significant role in the economy of the region and in the region as a whole,” said Mikhail Glazkov, deputy head of the region.
