Two dairy companies from Azerbaijan refused to work with Russia.

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance ( Rosselkhoznadzor ) has imposed a ban on the import of all types of dairy products from two Azerbaijani producers into Russia, the agency's press service reported.

The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency previously contacted Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) with information that two Azerbaijani companies—ALLBUY LLC and MILK PRODUCTS LLC—had refused Russian inspection. This was because they were not interested in further exports of their products to Russia.

"Taking this into account, Rosselkhoznadzor is restricting access to Russia for dairy products from these Azerbaijani enterprises," the statement said.

RBC sent inquiries to the offices of ALLBUY LLC and MILK PRODUCTS LLC.

A new round of tensions between the two countries began in late June, when security forces detained Azerbaijani nationals in Yekaterinburg on suspicion of involvement in murders and attempted murders. Two of them died during arrest. Azerbaijan , in turn, detained several journalists from the Russian publication Sputnik, as well as IT specialists and other Russians. The latter were charged with cyber fraud and drug trafficking. They were severely beaten during their arrest.

Amid the escalating tensions, Azerbaijan froze economic cooperation with Russia and refused to negotiate on certain projects, said Rasim Musabekov, a member of the republic's parliament.
