Belarusian producers plan to enter the Qatari meat market.

January 28, Minsk . Belarus and Qatar plan to expand cooperation in agriculture and food, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food told BelTA.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Yury Gorlov held talks with Qatar's Chargé d'Affaires in Belarus, Hamoud Saleh Al Saadi.

Agriculture is a key area of ​​bilateral relations. From January to November, the main exports were skim milk powder , cottage cheese (volumes increased 1.4-fold), cheeses (1.5-fold), and fish (deliveries tripled). Demand for Belarusian products is growing.

The meeting focused on entering the Qatari meat market. BelHalal recently received official accreditation, which opens access to Qatar and other regions of the Middle East, and halal certificates will be recognized for a wide range of products. 

The final step to launching poultry meat supplies is agreeing on the veterinary certificate. A draft of the relevant document has already been sent through diplomatic channels.

Yuri Gorlov emphasized that Belarus is interested not only in expanding its export geography but also in deepening cooperation, including through the supply of high-tech, certified products that meet the most stringent consumer requirements.

Hamoud Saleh Al-Saadi noted the high level of development of the Belarusian agro-industrial complex, calling it "globally significant," the high quality of its products, and the professionalism of the international exhibition organizers. He particularly emphasized Qatar's business community's interest in participating in Belagro-2026 as a platform for concluding specific contracts and establishing long-term partnerships.

"Qatari citizens trust Belarusian goods, and we are ready to increase trade volumes, develop mutual visits, exchange experiences, and implement joint initiatives," said Hamoud Saleh Al-Saadi.

He also assured that he would provide comprehensive assistance at the diplomatic level to expedite all procedures related to the entry of new categories of Belarusian products into the Qatari market.
