The Bashkortostan Arbitration Court invalidated warnings from Rosselkhoznadzor , the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), which prevented payments. In August 2023, an outbreak was detected at a poultry farm, forcing the culling of 3.2 million birds, 18.2 million eggs, and 70 tons of meat. Rosselkhoznadzor issued warnings regarding violations at the facility, but it was later discovered that the documentation had been backdated after the outbreak. This led to the initiation of criminal proceedings against a Rosselkhoznadzor employee. As a result, the sharp decline in egg production in the region may not recover until 2026.
