's Office supported the prosecution against his father in
court. This was reported to BELTA by the information service of the Grodno Region Prosecutor's Office.
According to the agency, the Smorgon District Prosecutor's Office supported the prosecution in a criminal case against an unemployed 40-year-old local resident, who is accused of allowing an unlicensed person to drive a vehicle, thereby negligently causing grievous bodily harm.
The trial established that in August
2025 , the accused , while
intoxicated , allowed his 15-year-old son to drive the family car. The father and two of his intoxicated friends were passengers in the vehicle. A minor driver lost control of the vehicle while driving on a gravel road, skidding into a ditch and colliding with roadside trees. As a result of the accident, one of the vehicle's occupants sustained serious injuries.
At the court hearing, the defendant admitted guilt.
Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the Smorgon District
Court rendered a guilty verdict. Under Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of restricted freedom, sent to an open correctional facility, and disqualified from driving for 5 years.
The defendant disagreed with the sentence and appealed the verdict. The appellate court upheld the verdict.
