Industrial development and new jobs: what projects are planned for the Klimovichsky District

January 23, Klimovichsky District. Viktor Pugach, chairman of the district executive committee, discussed the projects planned for implementation in the Klimovichsky District as part of the "One District - One Project" initiative during a visit by Dmitry Krutoy, Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus, BelTA reports.

"The program, approved by the presidential decree 'On the socio-economic development of the southeastern region of the Mogilev Region,' which was in effect until 2025 , is very important for small rural districts. Today, the issue of creating new jobs and developing production is urgent," he emphasized.

Among the major projects, a pig fattening complex being built in the district, is being implemented as part of the presidential instruction and the "One District - One Project" program. "With the commissioning of a pig fattening complex for 51,000 head, construction of the pig farming cluster will be completed. A breeding facility for 3,600 sows was commissioned in 2024. And as a follow-up, a fattening facility. All this will allow the pig population to increase to 100,000," noted Viktor Pugach.
But the district is not stopping there. "We're also working on a project to create a dry milk formula production facility. We've purchased the site of a former dairy plant that was unused. The investor has pledged over Br25 million in investments, which will create approximately 60 jobs," he added. "We're also exploring the possibility of processing stillage—the liquid waste from alcohol production. There's a distillery in the city, one of the production facilities is located in Kostyukovichi. It produces approximately 250 tons of stillage daily. The investor has expressed a desire to process it and export the finished product to the Russian Federation. This will create 25 new jobs. This translates into exports for the region, and, accordingly, wages."

The distillery will also modernize its bottling line—another investment project. "The equipment is currently depreciated: currently, it fills 6,000 bottles per hour, while the new line will fill 8,000 bottles per hour. This reduces production costs and, ultimately, benefits the district in terms of wages, taxes, and profits," said Viktor Pugach.
Furthermore, the district plans to expand pellet production. "The investor is considering purchasing a granulation line from the Russian Federation; production will be set up using local raw materials, and the enterprise is also export-oriented. The Russian side has already acquired a building as part of the repurposing of unused properties. This is a former school, where furniture production will be established," noted the chairman of the Klimovichi District Executive Committee."We are considering all of these investment projects as part of the development program for the southeastern regions."
