Uruguay: Meat cuts, offal, genetics, and irrigation on the agenda of the mission to China

According to industry sources ahead of the Uruguayan delegation's visit to China, led by President Yamandu Orsi, meat industry representatives expect to return from China with agreements that will allow the import of beef cuts currently unavailable for trade with the Asian country, as well as edible offal from the digestive tract, such as tongue and glottis.

There are also plans to enter into a series of genetic agreements involving the exchange of embryos.

In the agricultural sector, irrigation is one of the key areas of cooperation and the National Development Corporation (CND) will coordinate the activities.

More than 100 businessmen from various sectors will accompany the official delegation, which will focus its program on Beijing and Shanghai, including a meeting between Orsi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin announced that around 30 agreements will be signed between the two countries in the areas of trade, innovation, education, technology, logistics, as well as on improving facilitation instruments such as the Single Window for Foreign Trade and the Single Window for Investment.

The event will feature the Uruguayan Rural Association, the Rural Federation, Conaprole, INALE and other companies and organizations related to agriculture.

In the case of companies, mainly large and medium-sized, with an export profile or export potential, Uruguay XXI indicated.

The represented industries include meat processing, agriculture , dairy, seeds, grain, agribusiness, logistics, winemaking, poultry farming, tourism, and services. They will participate in visits, seminars, and networking events organized by Uruguay XXI and the government in Beijing and Shanghai.
