Lipetsk farmers harvested the second million tons of sugar beets

Sweet root crops are being harvested in all regions. SUGAR beets are planted on 109 thousand hectares this year.
Today in the Lipetsk region, 2 million 21 thousand tons of sugar beets have been obtained from 41 thousand hectares. The beet yield exceeds last year's by almost 100 centners and currently amounts to 493 c/ha.
The sweet root crop is processed at six sugar factories. At the moment, 225 thousand tons of sugar have been produced from 1.7 million tons of beets.
The Lipetsk region is still one of the top three in the country for sugar production.
