Western countries have long been preparing to impose sanctions against RUSSIA, so they are unlikely to be lifted, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with the French TV channel TF1.
“These sanctions, similar to hysteria, I would even say, somewhere in agony, were initiated by the West. The speed with which they were introduced and their length show that they were not composed overnight. They have been prepared for a long time. it is unlikely that these sanctions will be lifted,” he said.

The representative of the department said that the restrictive measures would be lifted if Russia stopped the military special operation in Ukraine, restored its sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.
In turn, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that sanctions would not be lifted without agreement with Ukraine. He drew attention to the fact that the terms of the peace agreement should not be "imposed" on Kyiv from the outside, and Russia and Ukraine should reach an understanding.
After the introduction of restrictive measures, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said that Moscow would not ask the West to lift the sanctions imposed against it, but would “develop its economy and its ability to develop independently while relying on those friends and like-minded people” that it has.
