Non-payment of wages at the defense plant is connected with Western sanctions, the HEAD of the enterprise said. During World War II, “they didn’t ask about salaries,” he added. On the eve of the IC opened a case due to non-payment of 20 million rubles.

Delays in wages at the Ural Compressor Plant are related to the Russian military operation in Ukraine, plant DIRECTOR Denis Tasakov told the European-Asian News agency.

According to him, many enterprises with which the plant cooperates fell under sanctions , due to which funds intended for paying contracts with the plant hung on their blocked accounts.

“Some had EXPORT contracts for which they cannot receive money, plus the exchange rate practically causes a loss for everyone. Accordingly, these enterprises do not pay us. We are small and were the last in this chain,” said Tasakov.

The Ural Compressor Plant (UKZ) was founded in 1933. The enterprise produces cryogenic equipment for almost all industries, produces compressors for helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, natural gas, etc. and mobile compressor stations.

During the Great Patriotic War, part of the evacuated factories moved to the UKZ sites.

According to the director of the plant, the company did not partially pay salaries for April and May, but plans to pay salaries to employees on June 23: those who did not take part in the strikes will be paid the entire debt, and those who participated in the strikes are about 50 people out of 370 plant workers - so far only for April.

“True, money should remain for those who are on strike. But I would like people to change their minds. I don’t want to apologize to anyone, because everyone should understand the situation. During the Great Patriotic War, no one asked about the salary, but we have a state defense order, and it is now in jeopardy,” Tasakov said.

In early June, regional publications URA.ru and E1.ru wrote that employees of the Ural Compressor Plant went on strike because of salary delays.

According to the employees of the enterprise, delays in payments arose long before the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine - since October 2021. “The authorities did not justify the salary delay, they said that there was no money, the accounts were arrested. And the accounts were indeed arrested, since the plant has huge tax debts, ”a machine operator from the seventh workshop of the enterprise told URA.RU. According to him, the employees of the workshop were delayed by 2-3 weeks, and the foremen, heads of workshops and technologists "were without money at all for 1.5 months." “And this mess began last October-November,” the source added.

According to the head of one of the workshops, who is also quoted by URA.ru, the plant has also accumulated debts to suppliers of tools and spare parts. “The delays started a year and a half ago, but they were small, so the employees were sympathetic to the management. But now there is no feedback at all, we don't know what to do," he told the agency.

Portal E1.ru one of the employees of the plant said that this is not the first strike. “People refused to work in March, we were calculated. Then in May they went on strike again, partial payments began. Until the end of May, the prosecutor's office ordered to pay the debt to employees for two months, we received nothing, ”the source said. According to him, the average salary at the plant is about 50 thousand rubles.

The day before, on June 22, the Investigative Committee announced that it had opened a criminal case on the fact of non-payment of wages at the enterprise under Part 2 of Art. 145.1 of the Criminal Code (non-payment of wages for more than two months, the maximum sanction is imprisonment for up to three years).

The investigation believes that the management of the Ural Compressor Plant did not pay wages to more than 300 employees for more than two months. The total amount of debt amounted to more than 20 million rubles.
