A special flight of the Russian Emergencies Ministry landed at the Johannesburg airport, it delivered a mobile laboratory and Rospotrebnadzor specialists to South Africa, a TASS correspondent reports.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a mobile laboratory of Rospotrebnadzor based on a Kamaz vehicle, virologists, epidemiologists, doctors of Rospotrebnadzor and an operational group of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were on board the Il-76.

According to the agency, the arrivals also included scientists and practitioners from the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, the Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute Microb of Rospotrebnadzor and the Vector Center.

On December 9, during a telephone conversation with the HEAD of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised that Russian doctors and equipment would be delivered to the republic. The Kremlin press service noted that Ramaphosa expressed gratitude for the willingness of the Russian side to cooperate in the fight against the pandemic.
