Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the establishment of the Order "For Merit in Culture and Art" and the medal "For Labor in Culture and Art." This follows from the text of the document published by the Kremlin press service.

According to the decree, the creators of theatrical performances, cinema, literary and musical works, concert and circus programs, television and radio programs can be awarded the Order for Merit in Culture and Art. Also, this order can be received for the creation of unique architectural works, paintings, sculptures, highly artistic images on stage and on the screen.

The Order for Merit in Culture and Art will be awarded to restorers, popularizers of Russian artistic culture and art, and workers in the system of vocational education in the field of arts. Including the order can also be awarded to foreigners who have contributed in one of the listed areas.
