The head of the Ministry of Transport announced S7's plans to operate Il-96 and Il-86

S7 Airlines plans to use Il-96 and Il-86 cargo planes, Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev said at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy.

“Now S7, under my patronage, I agreed with [head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis] Manturov, he takes five cars - two 96 trucks and three 86 trucks. He will finish building them, and we will fly, ”he said. 

Savelyev called these planes "uncompetitive" because they consume a lot of kerosene - because of this, ticket prices rise. “But they are normal cars, they fly,” the minister said.
