February 26, MINSK. In Belarus, the number of injured at work in 2022 decreased by 5%, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, summing up the results of the industry for 2022.

Last year, we managed to maintain a downward trend in the overall level of industrial injuries. Compared to 2021, the number of injured at work decreased by 5% (from 1886 to 1781 people), the number of deaths at work remained at the level of 2021 and amounted to 132 people.

In the current five-year plan, emphasis is placed on the introduction of labor protection management systems and such a new form of prevention work as "Zero Injury Week". In particular, about 300 Zero Injury Week events were held in all regions. In seven districts of the republic, not only during such weeks, but also throughout the year, there were no cases of industrial injuries.

In 2023, work to prevent injuries and deaths of workers at work is based on the results of an analysis of industrial injuries, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection noted. First of all, it is necessary to use the potential of mobile teams more efficiently, especially in the most traumatic industries, including during periods of mass work that have seasonal specifics.

In 2022, the number of employees employed in jobs with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions decreased. Work continued on the development of legislation in the field of labor protection. Thus, the rules for the free provision of workers with MILK have been updated, the list of hard work and work with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions, where women are prohibited from working, has been reduced. The list of light types of work that can be performed by persons aged 14 to 16 has been expanded. A new edition of the rules on labor protection was adopted when performing work in circuses, in agriculture and fisheries, when operating automobile and urban electric transport, and when working with chemicals that exhibit hazardous properties.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection also spoke about the tasks for 2023. In particular, it is necessary to ensure the development and adoption of regulatory legal and technical legal acts that establish labor protection requirements for the most traumatic types of activities - during construction and loading and unloading operations. It is also required to update the lists of industries, jobs, professions, positions and indicators in jobs with harmful and difficult working conditions, employment in which gives the right to an early retirement pension for working in special conditions.

Work on labor protection, prevention of industrial injuries gives results when carried out on a systematic basis, the ministry noted. All available resources should be used in this work. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection counts, among other things, on social partners.
