December 3, MINSK Law enforcement agencies will continue to unravel corruption schemes in the field of MEAT and MILK processing. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - HEAD of the Criminal Police Gennady Kazakevich on the TV channel, commenting on the latest management of Babushkina Krynka and the Berezovsky meat-packing plant, BELTA reports.

“We will reach the end in the field of processing both meat and milk. There will be more arrests, more criminal cases will be initiated,” said Gennady Kazakevich.

Referring to the corruption scandal at the Berezovsky meat-packing plant, he called it a classic fact of systemic business corruption. In this case, an entrepreneur was found who supplied the enterprise with additives for the production of meat products. A similar scheme had previously been identified during the supply of spare parts and veterinary drugs. “There is a businessman who makes corruption part of his business. In other words, in order to implement his marketing strategy, to promote a product, it is completely normal for him to give a BRIBE. On the other side sits a dishonest manager, for whom it is just as normal to take a bribe,” explained Gennady Kazakevich .

According to him, such actions have a negative impact on the economy, since the inflated price of the goods falls on the cost of production. “All this ultimately affects the attractiveness of the product. We then think about how to sell it on the foreign or domestic markets,” noted Gennady Kazakevich.

He added that the corruption scheme worked for 15 years. “An established, respected leader is currently in a pre-trial detention center. A businessman, whose scope of activity covered the entire republic (Berezovsky meat processing plant - only one episode, there were other plants in other regions of the republic), is also in a pre-trial detention center and is giving testimony. And we will reach everyone, who was affected by this corruption scheme,” emphasized Gennady Kazakevich.
