Average prices for chicken cuttings generally increased. Only the price of minced MEAT decreased.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released its first forecasts for food price inflation in 2026. The agency is forecasting more modest price increases than expected, and all are below the 20-year average. The USDA's initial forecast for 2026 calls for a 2.7% increase in all food prices.

Egg prices , one of the most volatile food categories, are projected to rise 24.6% in 2025, down from last month’s forecast of 33.2%. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) noted that retail egg prices fell for the third consecutive month from May to June 2025, with egg prices falling 10.8% from May to June, after falling 7.5% from April to May and 10.5% from March to April. However, the USDA noted, “Egg prices were still 27.3% higher in June 2025 than they were in June 2024. ” Egg prices are projected to fall 18.4% in 2026, although the USDA notes high uncertainty, with a wide range of forecasts, from a 45.0% decline to a 22.8% gain.
