In 2024 , Thailand exported 53,000 pigs with a total value of 303 million baht, up 10.82% from 2023's 47,827 HEAD, while the value decreased by 23.95% from 2023's 399 million baht. In 2024, Thailand exported 108,000 live pigs with a total value of 490 million baht, up 31.94% and 28.71% from 2023's 81,858 head with a total value of 380 million baht.
Thailand exported 2,140 tonnes of chilled and frozen pork, valued at 220 million baht. The volume increased by 8.88% from 1,965 tonnes in 2023, while the value decreased by 14.63% from 258 million baht in 2023. The main EXPORT markets were Hong Kong, Myanmar and Laos. In 2024, Thailand exported 4,780 tonnes of processed pork, valued at 1,065 million baht, up 19.81% and 13.38% respectively from 3,990 tonnes, valued at 939 million baht in 2023. The main export markets were Japan , Cambodia, Hong Kong and Laos. The total export volume increased as a result of strict biosecurity systems, resulting in Thai pork products of acceptable quality.
Live pig, chilled and frozen pork, and processed pork exports are expected to increase slightly in 2025 compared to 2024 due to economic recovery as trading partners gain confidence in Thai livestock product standards and the government's policy of promoting overseas pork exports.
In 2024, Thailand imported 274 tons of pork worth 94 million baht, up 24.90% and 19.17% respectively from 220 tons worth 79 million baht in 2023. The imports were from European Union countries, namely Spain, France and Denmark. In 2024, Thailand imported 10,890 tons of other edible parts of pigs (skin, liver and other offal) worth 155 million baht, down 49.20% and 55.80% respectively from 21,437 tons worth 351 million baht in 2023. The imports were from Spain. The pork product imports in 2025 are expected to be similar to 2024.
