The Ministry of Agriculture announced the absence of consolidated calculations on the cost and percentage efficiency of manure and litter processing technologies

The scientific and practical conference was organized by the Interdepartmental Coordination Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences for research in the field of agro-industrial production and integrated development of rural areas and the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on issues of the agro-industrial complex.

Oleg Lityaykin noted that now in RUSSIA there are two main scenarios for the development of the situation with the circulation of manure and bird droppings. 90% of agricultural enterprises, as a rule, organize work using traditional technology; the rest do not have the opportunity to use organic matter on their lands. The reasons are different: either due to insufficient space, or the great distance of the land from the farm. For such enterprises, according to the speaker, the only alternative is the use of technologies for deep processing of organic matter.

“Unfortunately, it is difficult to assess the economic component of using such technologies. There are no consolidated calculations for cost, percentage efficiency. They name the selling price of the finished product, which can be 15-16 rubles. As far as I know, this is the price of simple mineral fertilizers. At the same time, they say that the cost can range from 10-12-15 rubles. In principle , agricultural producers say that they are ready to try, but we need to calculate everything and we need to understand what to do with it next,” Oleg Lityaykin said.

Speaking about measures to support the agricultural sector, the speaker noted that the main task of the Ministry of Agriculture is to ensure the country’s food security, therefore all funding is aimed at this. At the same time, as Oleg Lityaykin noted, the regulator has provided mechanisms to stimulate agricultural producers in the construction and modernization of livestock complexes, and the use of modern technologies for the disposal of livestock by-products. We are talking about loans for the construction and reconstruction of manure and litter storage and processing facilities, the purchase of appropriate equipment, including specialized vehicles and gas installations. State support is also allocated for the reconstruction and construction of feed mills and the acquisition of equipment for the disposal of biological waste.

“Literally a week ago, an order was registered where the list of equipment provided by Rosagroleasing included equipment for the disposal and processing of manure and litter,” added Oleg Lityaykin.

Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Committee for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Pyotr Chekmarev noted that the problems of processing livestock by-products have been brewing for a long time, especially when large livestock complexes appeared, during the construction of which “a lot of things were not taken into account .To resolve environmental issues, Federal Law No. 248 of July 14, 2022 No. 248-FZ “On livestock by-products and on amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation” was adopted . It has already begun to work, but, unfortunately, not everyone knows about it even among representatives of the professional community. Moreover, agricultural producers are faced with a new problem.

“It turns out that there is not enough technology for processing manure and litter in Russia, and there is no corresponding knowledge on how to do it. At events dedicated to this topic, everyone asks for technologies and opportunities to study them, so that technologies can be tied to farms and complexes. Many Russian specialists study world experience abroad, including CHINA and Vietnam,” emphasized Pyotr Chekmarev.
