In the period from September 16 to 30, compared to the first half of the month, the average bill increased for loaf (by 2.8%, to 37 rubles), coffee (by 0.6%, to 182 rubles). it decreased for cucumbers (by 7.3%, to 89 rubles), ham (by 2.7%, to 183 rubles), SUGAR (by 1.5%, to 66 rubles) and cheese (by 0.5%, to 66 rubles) up to 183 rubles). The average bill for butter remained at the same level (153 rubles). Thus, the index, compared to the previous two-week period, decreased by 1.2 points and amounted to 114.7 points. Then, from October 1 to October 15, the average bill increased for ham (by 2.7%, to 188 rubles), coffee ( by 1.6% to 185 rubles), cheese (by 1.1% to 185 rubles). It decreased for cucumbers (by 7.9% to 82 rubles), sugar (by 3% to 64 rubles). Remained unchanged for the loaf (37 rubles) and butter (153 rubles). That is, the index decreased by another 0.8 points and amounted to 113.9 points.
The index was developed by RIA Novosti based on data exclusively provided to the agency by specialists from the large analytical resource "Check Index". The “basket” for its calculation included seven goods - frequent guests on the morning tables of Russians: loaf (400 grams), ham (200 grams), butter (180 grams), cheese (200 grams), cucumbers (500 grams) , instant coffee (95 grams), sugar (1 kilogram).
For products from this consumer “basket,” Check Index analysts regularly calculate aggregated impersonal sales indicators (average check). The base 100 points are taken as the value of the “Coffee Sandwich Index” in the period from October 1 to October 15, 2022. Its change corresponds to the arithmetic average of the dynamics of the average bill for each of the seven goods.
