How the state motivates people to take care of their own safety, said Alexander Semich, DIRECTOR of the department of the State Labor Inspectorate of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

Violated - five basic

In order to force people to take care of themselves, the state has developed economic mechanisms for influencing those who hope for a chance where this cannot be done. If earlier a person, for example, worked without a helmet, then his leader was punished. Now - the offender himself. You were taught that you need to be in a helmet, but you didn’t put it on - answer.

For a year now, the administrative responsibility of a violating employee has been in effect. He can be fined five basic units. He may also have his bonus reduced. Of the disciplinary measures, the following are: reprimand, reprimand, deprivation of the bonus (up to 12 months) and, finally, dismissal.

- Personal protective equipment in a number of professions is the last frontier of labor protection.

Where there are no structural and technological protection solutions, wear helmets, goggles, safety belts and other personal protective equipment. Position: I can put it on, but I can not put it on - non-constructive. - concludes Alexander Semich.

Who's guilty?

The most traumatic sectors are industry, agriculture and construction. On the one hand, there are a lot of different equipment and devices, on the other hand, there is a high proportion of manual labor. In 2021, 1,886 people were injured at work, and 1,889 in 2020. There is a decrease, Alexander Semich notes, although it is insignificant. The number of deaths has also decreased: in 2021 - 132 people, in 2020 - 139. By the way, 63 people out of all those injured were intoxicated , 15 of them died.

- Let's analyze fatal accidents, which are investigated most scrupulously, from all sides, - suggests the interlocutor. - So, 25.9% were due to the fault of the employer and his officials. In 22.2% of cases, the employee himself violated the labor protection requirements known to him.

28.4% have a mixed fault of the employer and the victim. Another 23.5% are other accidents. That is, over 70% of deaths are due to the human factor in the production itself.

Like a blueprint

Sowing is underway. Alexander Semich recalled last year's accident with an auxiliary worker at one of the farms in the Vitebsk region. During the planting of potatoes, he leaned against the casing of the gearbox of a working potato planter, as a result of which his clothes were wound around the rotating drive shaft, and then his arm.

How to avoid an emergency at work - to save your HEALTH and life?

- Clearly comply with the requirements of labor protection, which you have been trained, - says Alexander Vladimirovich and gives the most common causes of accidents at work in other areas.

Among the victims are many woodworking machine operators. Most often, they are injured when they remove the guards and start cleaning the machine without waiting for the rotation of the cutting tool to stop. In 2021, more than 120 locksmiths were injured. Many - due to the fact that, having picked up a tool, for example, a hammer or a chisel, they forgot to put on goggles. As a result, metal fragments injured the eyes. Drivers and tractor operators get injured and die during the maintenance and repair of vehicles, changing wheels, forgetting to set the equipment on the wheel chock.

Window cleaning begins. Many cleaners tidy up window structures by standing on tables, chairs and other random fixtures, and window cleaning often ends in falls and injuries.

The above listed emergencies occur annually with unfortunate constancy.

More guilt - less payouts

- When a person has an accident at work, he is not left alone with his misfortune. In our country, there is compulsory insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases. Each employee is automatically insured for this type of insurance as soon as he starts performing work under an employment contract, Alexander Vladimirovich clarifies.

Thus, in 2021, payments to those who were injured, as well as to the families of those who died as a result of accidents at work, amounted to 150 million rubles. In addition, if it is provided for by the collective agreement of the enterprise, the families of the victims were paid a one-time allowance in the amount of 10 average annual wages.

- It is known that if a person was injured at work, then Belgosstrakh pays him sick leave with 100% pay from the first day of disability. If in a state of intoxication - only 50%, - the expert notes. - If a serious injury led to disability (for example, God forbid, a person lost his fingers), he is entitled to monthly payments. But if it is established that the employee grossly violated safety regulations, their size will decrease in proportion to the fault of the victim. Most collective agreements also stipulate the rules on the payment to the victim of a lump-sum allowance in the amount of the average monthly salary for each percentage of disability. Their size decreases with an increase in the degree of guilt of the victim.

Industrial injuries cost the world economy 3-4% of annual GDP.

The 10 most traumatic professions: a car driver, a mechanic, a livestock breeder, an auxiliary worker, a tractor driver, a machine milking operator, a woodworking machine operator, an electrician, an electric and gas welder, a cleaner.
