Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal case of private-public prosecution against a 32-year-old local resident - he is charged with torture of his wife under Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code.

As established, the man is in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication during family scandals from December 2023 to November 2024 systematically beat his 26-year-old wife. At the same time, the suspect had previously been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for illegal actions against his wife. Preventive work was carried out with him, but the man did not draw the necessary conclusions.

it is noteworthy that the woman refused to write a statement about bringing her husband to criminal responsibility: she feared revenge from him. The prosecutor's office nevertheless made such a procedural decision, since leaving the accused's actions unpunished could lead to him committing a more serious crime.

To organize a preliminary investigation, the prosecutor sent the criminal case to the Volkovysk District Department of the Investigative Committee.
