In the Tambov region, everything is ready for the spring sowing campaign

Readiness for spring field work was discussed by agrarians today at a regional meeting. The HEAD of the region Maxim Egorov took part in its work.
There are only a few weeks left before the planting season. Preparations are in full swing. The total area under crops this year will remain at the level of 2022 and will amount to about 1.9 thousand hectares. The area under crops of spring grains, oilseeds, and SUGAR beets will increase.
Agricultural enterprises of the region are provided with seeds of all crops. Contracts were signed for the supply of necessary plant protection products. Work is underway to provide farms with mineral fertilizers for spring field work. All storage facilities are filled with fuel and lubricants and will be replenished as they are used. The equipment is also ready for work in the fields. In the future - the renewal of the machine and tractor fleet.
“I hope that the sowing campaign will take place as usual and will provide us with a decent harvest. The Tambov region has good potential in the field of agriculture. Last year, despite the difficult weather conditions, the farmers of the region showed good results. Tambov region is still among the top five leaders of the Central Federal District. We have the 2nd place in the production of sunflower, the 3rd place in the production of grain and sugar beet, the 4th place in the production of soybeans. A new season is coming and we are faced with new tasks to provide the region with raw materials and food. it is important to work on positive dynamics and on improving the quality and competitiveness of local agricultural products,” said the Head of the region Maxim Egorov.
Tambov agrarians annually expand the scope of advanced technologies, improve the quality of farming, so the experts are focused on increasing production and achieving new records. The region has every reason to implement ambitious plans. Preparation for the sowing campaign is under the special control of the regional authorities.
The head of the region drew the attention of the regional Ministry of Agriculture to the task of timely bringing state support funds to farmers. In the sowing campaign, this is especially important, since all work must be carried out by agricultural producers in the optimal time. Work to increase the use of seeds of domestic selection is also of great importance. In our region, dozens of varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops important for the agricultural sector of the Tambov region are being tested.
