The first plant for the production of granulated animal feed will be put into operation in Dagestan

The project is being implemented by Batyr Broiler LLC, which is a large full-system production enterprise in the agro-industrial complex. Sharip Sharipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, got acquainted with the implementation of the investment project.
As Ashtar Batyrov, the founder of the enterprise, said, he had been nurturing this idea for a long time, such production is extremely important for transferring poultry farming to modern rails. The equipment is predominantly of Turkish production, there are a number of domestic components - all components are in place, installation work is underway. The capacity of this plant is designed to produce up to 63 thousand tons of granular feed per year. According to expert estimates, the volume of feed used by the entire poultry industry of the republic last year exceeded 115 thousand tons. Construction began at the end of 2021, we expect to put it into operation by July of this year.
According to the investor, the production of granular feed is the main route followed by farms all over the world that are engaged in poultry farming and other areas of animal husbandry. The advantage of using pelleted feed is that the birds will receive an optimized amount of nutrients, since the pellet has the same composition and includes all the necessary nutrients. This allows for high efficiency of poultry fattening.
For example, after switching to granular feed, the amount of feed consumed per unit of product received will decrease. Thus, the feed conversion at the enterprise will decrease from 1.67 to 1.55 kg of feed per 1 kg of MEAT. Or the average daily weight gain of a bird will increase to 68 grams, while today this figure is 60 grams.
Another important component of granular feed is high hygiene, heat treatment practically suppresses all strains of pathogenic microflora, which means less veterinary costs will be required. The convenience of transporting such feeds, the possibility of their automatic distribution and other advantages ultimately have a positive effect on production efficiency.
“Over the past year, we have increased the incubation capacity of our enterprise from 17 million eggs to 25 million. We use up to 2-2.5 million day-old chicks for the needs of the enterprise, and supply the rest of the livestock both within the republic and abroad. Today we are already developing a project for the construction of a second-level loudspeaker, which is extremely important in the face of sanctions pressure. We will produce hatching eggs ourselves in the required volumes and supply them for the needs of other enterprises in the industry. We intend to start construction of new buildings for growing poultry soon, which will make it possible to rationally use the potential in the field of incubation and processing. Today, the enterprise has the capacity to process up to 40 thousand tons of meat with the release of hundreds of high-quality meat products.
Commenting on what he saw, Sharip Sharipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, noted that today Dagestan provides itself with 57 percent of poultry meat and the work carried out at this enterprise is a major step towards the revival of the entire poultry industry of the republic.
Batyr-broiler is the flagship of poultry farming in Dagestan, the best models of modern technologies are implemented here, people come here for advanced experience, including from abroad too. The investor of the enterprise, Ashtar Batyrov, made a colossal contribution to the modernization of our agricultural industry, and today he has a number of relevant investment projects in his piggy bank aimed at solving the problems of import substitution of national importance.
“One of the weak links in the sustainable development of the poultry industry is the fodder base. It is known that feed accounts for 75% of costs in the cost of poultry farming. Therefore, the commissioning of a plant for the production of granular feed is another important step in bringing our agricultural industry to another higher competitive level. It is gratifying that in the agricultural industry of Dagestan the course taken for technical and technological modernization is being put into practice in the form of the implementation of such investment projects. All-round support through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic is provided to this project. Today we are working on other opportunities to support urgent investment projects in the agro-industrial complex of the republic,” Sharip Sharipov said.
