On July 13, 2022, on the basis of the Lipetsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Central Scientific and Methodological Veterinary Laboratory", a seminar "Actual diseases of cattle and modern means of specific prevention" was held. Specialists of the Federal Center for Animal HEALTH, subordinated to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR, took part in the work of the event in full-time format. The seminar was devoted to the topic of import substitution of means for the prevention of animal diseases.
Dmitry Pavlov, Ph.D. in veterinary sciences, leading specialist in cattle diseases of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “ARRIAH”, noted that the Federal Center for Animal Health can offer a full range of drugs that will completely replace imported ones. Vaccines developed by FGBI ARRIAH help prevent the most common diseases in livestock and poultry: CORONAVIRUS and rotavirus infection, parainfluenza, pneumoenteritis, and others. The research work of the Federal Center for Animal Health is focused on obtaining new scientific knowledge in the field of epizootology of animal diseases, molecular biology, virology, bacteriology, genetic engineering and biotechnology in order to control and ensure the biological and food safety of the Russian Federation.
Dmitry Biryuchenkov, a senior researcher at the FGBI ARRIAH Laboratory for the Prevention of Diseases in Pigs and Cattle, presented up-to-date information on the most significant infectious pathologies in pigs via videoconferencing, presenting the means of specific prevention produced by the FGBI ARRIAH.
Sergey Frolov, Leading Researcher of the Laboratory for the Prevention of Poultry Diseases of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “ARRIAH”, made a presentation on the effectiveness of vaccine prevention in industrial poultry farming. The audience was provided with information on the fight against especially dangerous and economically significant diseases of birds in a tense epizootic situation.
The meeting was attended by veterinarians from the Lipetsk region, who appreciated the work of FGBI “ARRIAH” researchers and noted the relevance of the topic raised.
