Epizootic situation on especially dangerous animal diseases in the world in July 2022

In July 2022, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (WOAH) received reports of the registration of especially dangerous animal diseases in different countries of the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of WOAH.

African swine fever has been reported in Hungary (35 outbreaks), Germany (40), Italy (27), Latvia (108), Macedonia (2), Moldova (2), Poland (122), Romania (29), Ukraine (1) , Nepal (4) and South Africa (4). The focus of classical swine fever is registered in Brazil.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been reported by Belgium (10), United Kingdom (35), Germany (28), Denmark (20), Ireland (2), Spain (5), CANADA (6), Netherlands (37), Norway (11), Poland (3), Portugal (1), usa (53), Taiwan (4), Faroe Islands (7), Philippines (24), Finland (4), France (73), Sweden (20), South Africa (2) . Infection has been noted in farm and wild birds, as well as in mammals in the United States. Currently, the H5N1 subtype is mainly registered, in addition, H5, H5N5 and H5N2 subtypes have been identified.

Newcastle disease has been identified in Israel (5) and Spain (3).

FMD outbreaks were reported by Algeria (9), Zimbabwe (2), Mozambique (2), South Africa (7) and Israel (3).

Infectious nodular dermatitis was found in cattle in Afghanistan and Cambodia (1 focus each).

An outbreak of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia was identified by the Namibian Veterinary Service (1). Sheep pox and goat pox (2 outbreaks) have been reported in small cattle in Israel, and plague of small ruminants (9 outbreaks) has been reported in Algeria.

Infectious anemia was found in a horse in Hungary (1). Contagious metritis in horses in the UK (1) and Denmark (11).

In Germany, a new focus of West Nile fever. Rabies in Melilla (1). In the United States, the coronovirus infection covid-19 (SARS-COV-2).

Anthrax has been reported in Azerbaijan (1), Kyrgyzstan (1), Spain (1) and France (1).
