For the period from June 4 to 10, 2022, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (WOAH) received reports of the registration of 278 foci of especially dangerous animal diseases from 22 countries of the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of WOAH.
The Veterinary Services of Burundi notified OIE of three outbreaks of Rift Valley fever in cattle and Côte d'Ivoire of two outbreaks of equine piroplasmosis.
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been reported in previously disease-free Guinea (6 outbreaks) and Iraq (2). Belgium (1), Hungary (12), Norway (3), Poland (1), Taiwan (1), Finland (1), Japan (5), CANADA (1) and the usa (17) reported new HPAI outbreaks . The disease was recorded in wild and farm birds, as well as in wild foxes. In most cases, the H5N1 virus subtype was identified. In addition, H5N8 has been detected in Iraq, H5 in Japan and H5N2 in Taiwan.
African swine fever has been reported again in Germany (13), Italy (11), Latvia (6), Poland (66), Romania (4), Thailand (1) and the Philippines (86). Classical swine fever among wild boars was reported by official sources in Japan (21 outbreaks).
Animal disease with foot and mouth disease (serotype O) has been reported in Israel (13). Infectious rhinotracheitis/pustular vulvovaginitis has been reported in Kazakhstan (1). In Melilla, a dog has been diagnosed with rabies.
