Over the course of a year, the Kuzbass Competence Center in the field of agricultural cooperation and support for farmers helped 300 villagers in the region in resolving legal and accounting issues, preparing documents and organizing training.
The work is carried out within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives,” initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Today, new technologies are coming to the agricultural sector, and state programs are in place. Farmers and entrepreneurs need the help of specialists to confidently develop production, so we continue to implement programs to support farmers. With the help of the Competence Center professionals, they prepare business projects for participation in the grant competition, win and, as a result, receive tangible support from the state. This year, under the national project, 55.3 million rubles will be allocated to Kuzbass farmers, which is 12.2 million rubles more than last year. This will increase production capacity, create additional jobs, increase food independence, and steadily develop the economy of the region and the country,” said Governor Sergei Tsivilev.
Last year, 31 Kuzbass agricultural producers received assistance in drawing up business plans necessary to participate in grant support competitions through the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. 33 packages of documents have been prepared for subsidies to agricultural consumer cooperatives.
Another type of activity in demand in the region is supporting agricultural producers during the preparation for the competition for grants under the Agrostartup program. In 2023, 4 farms from Krapivinsky, Prokopyevsky, Mariinsky and Yaya districts received funds.
Also, the Kuzbass Competence Center is engaged in informing about government support measures for start-up and sustainable farms; helps prepare presentation materials and develop a strategy to increase turnover; assists in organizing fairs and exhibitions to promote local products. In addition, together with the regional Ministry of Agriculture, specialists from the Competence Center are working on the digitalization of farmland.
In August 2023, through the interaction of the Competence Center with producers, the first second-level agricultural marketing consumer cooperative in Kuzbass, “Kuzbass Cooperator,” was created, uniting several farms. Joint activities allow farmers to compete with major market players, sell their products through retail chains and supply them to social institutions.
The development of the Competence Center also occurs through the exchange of experience with colleagues from other regions. In June, a delegation from Irkutsk visited Kuzbass, and in November they hosted colleagues from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). We discussed work in different sectors of agricultural production: vegetable growing, beekeeping and dairy farming.
At the All-Russian Agro-Industrial Exhibition “Golden Autumn” in October, the Kuzbass Competence Center was awarded a gold medal for effective information and consulting support for the industry.
