EU approves fourth package of sanctions against Russia over Ukraine

The permanent representatives of the EU member states approved the fourth package of sanctions against Russia due to the military operation in Ukraine, according to the Twitter account of the French delegation, which presides over the EU Council.

The report says that the sanctions will be directed "against individuals and legal entities involved in the aggression against Ukraine, as well as a number of sectors of the Russian economy."

In addition, the permanent representatives approved a statement to the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the suspension of the most favored nation treatment for Russia. it also contains a request to suspend consideration of Belarus' application for WTO accession.

The approved measures will be promptly published in the Official Journal of the EU.
