it is unlikely that the CoviVac vaccine will appear in St. Petersburg in the near future , after its stocks in the city have run out. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the HEALTH Committee Andrey Saran live on the page of the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov in VKontakte.

“I want to say that today there is no KoviVak in St. Petersburg. <...> We do not recommend waiting for her arrival in St. Petersburg in the near future, we urge to be vaccinated with what we have at the moment, ”Saran emphasized.

The official called CoviVac a difficult vaccine to manufacture, as it uses a “killed” CORONAVIRUS. The drug is made by only one company, which to date has produced only 1 million doses for the whole of RUSSIA.

Now in St. Petersburg there is a small stock of EpiVacCorona, Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines, Saran noted. According to him, at the end of October, residents of the city experienced difficulties in getting accustomed to Sputnik Light due to the increased demand for it. As the deputy chairman of the committee explained, after the announcement of non-working days, St. Petersburg residents wanted to be vaccinated with a single dose in order to receive a QR code as soon as possible.
