In Russia, for the second day in a row, a record 1254 deaths from COVID were recorded.

Over the past day in RUSSIA, 1,254 people died from coronavirus, the operational headquarters said.

The last time such a number of deaths was registered the day before, on November 19. This is the maximum since the beginning of the pandemic.

The largest number of deaths per day was recorded in Moscow - 93, followed by St. Petersburg - 75. In third place is the Krasnodar Territory, it registered a record 72 deaths from coronavirus per day. In the Moscow region, 61 people died, in the Nizhny Novgorod region - 40.

The total number of deaths from coronavirus in Russia has reached 262.8 thousand, follows from the data of the operational headquarters. According to Rosstat, from the beginning of the pandemic in the country to September, 462.4 thousand people died with COVID-19. The agency takes into account in its statistics not only cases when coronavirus became the main cause of death, but also those when COVID-19 led to fatal complications of another disease or was detected after death.
