Kazan will not cancel events for Students' Day due to COVID-19

Mass events will be held in Kazan universities on January 25. In the evening, the awarding ceremony of the regional competition "Student of the Year" will take place.

Today, Mintimer Nugmanov, Chairman of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs of the Executive Committee of Kazan, said that festive mass events dedicated to Students' Day will be held in Kazan universities tomorrow.

“Tomorrow, universities will host concerts, award ceremonies, fairs and sports competitions. Kazan Federal University will host an event that will involve about 1.5 thousand students. Students of the Kazan Institute of Culture are preparing their concert. KAI will hold a holiday in the Black Lake park: the expected number of participants is about 200,” Nugmanov said. According to him, events are planned in other universities.

Nugmanov added that on January 25, the awarding ceremony of the republican contest "Student of the Year" will be held at the Pyramid CRC.

In total, there are 168 thousand students in Kazan who receive education in 30 higher and 32 professional organizations. Nugmanov said that the events will be held subject to measures to prevent the spread of covid-19 .

On January 21, the operational headquarters of Tatarstan reported an increase in the growth rate of the COVID-19 disease. Yesterday, 213 cases of infection were confirmed.
