One of the main reasons for tightening controls is the threat of bacterial resistance to antibiotics. With the widespread use of these drugs, microorganisms adapt and develop defense mechanisms, reducing the effectiveness of antibiotics used to treat infectious diseases. According to the World Health Organization, this phenomenon has already become one of the major threats to public health.

In Russia, approximately 70% of all antibiotics are used in animal husbandry, which raises serious concerns. This poses a threat to both public health and food security, as antibiotic residues in animal products can cause allergic reactions and contribute to the development of antibiotic resistance in humans.

To address this problem, Tatarstan is implementing several key measures:

  1. Strict adherence to legislation: antibiotics will only be used on prescription from a veterinarian.

  2. Tracking systems: implementation of technologies to track the use of drugs at all stages of production.

  3. Transition to alternative methods: strengthening prevention through vaccination and the use of probiotics.

  4. Education and awareness: Farmers and veterinary professionals will be trained on the risks associated with the uncontrolled use of antibiotics.

Tightening antibiotic control in Tatarstan's livestock sector is a strategic objective related to public health and food safety. Maintaining antibiotic effectiveness and protecting human and animal health requires active cooperation from all stakeholders.
