At the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which has been under the control of the Russian military since February 24, a rotation of personnel has been carried out, the Ukrainian Energoatom reported.
The company said that on March 20, 64 people were taken out of the station territory: 50 people of the Chernobyl NPP shift personnel, nine employees of the National Guard of Ukraine (eight women and one cancer patient), one employee of the State Emergency Service and four “stalkers”. The station employees were at their workplaces for about 600 hours, Energoatom added.
“46 volunteer workers of the station went to replace the evacuated personnel of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant to perform their duties and ensure the functioning of the enterprise,” the message says.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to REUTERS, confirmed the rotation of the plant's personnel and expressed the hope that the employees remaining at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant would be able to change in the near future.
