“We look into it objectively and impartially.” Tertel on the investigation into corruption in the dairy sector

December 13, MINSK. The principled position on eradicating corruption in Belarus will be continued. Chairman of the State Security Committee Ivan Tertel said this, commenting on the investigation into the case of corruption in the dairy sector, in a conversation with journalists, BELTA correspondent reports.

“The instructions of the HEAD of state are being carried out, this is strictly controlled. We will probably inform the public in more detail based on the results of the investigation. We investigate objectively and impartially. The position of the head of state on these issues is known: to mercilessly eradicate corruption,” said Ivan Tertel.

The Chairman of the State Security Committee called corruption an absolute evil. “When it comes to this dairy business, they try to tell us that we overlooked it. But we know the state of corruption in neighboring countries, not only inUkraine. And in Western European countries this problem is very acute. People turn a blind eye to it and don’t see it for various reasons. In our state everything is different. The head of state makes fundamental decisions - there are no untouchable persons. Without a doubt, this position will be continued."

Returning to the progress of the investigation into corruption in the dairy industry, Ivan Tertel said that order is currently being brought to the issue of minibuses. "By the end of the year, we will report to the head of state on execution. In our country there are no important issues that pass by the President, including this one,” the KGB chairman emphasized.
