EU in January-February reduced milk production by 2.4%

European Union countries reduced milk production by 2.4% in January-February 2021.

In addition, in the first half of the year, gross milk yield is expected to be at or slightly below that of 2020. This is due to restrictions in the HoReCa segment and supply chain disruptions.

However, the decrease in the production of raw milk in the EU will not affect the EXPORT of cheese and butter. According to forecasts, foreign deliveries of these products will grow by 1% this year. Thus, the export of cheese will amount to 950 thousand tons, butter - 250 thousand tons.
